BLOOD CLOTTING IN INFANTS

Bible Miracles: Blood Clotting in Infants

Blood Clotting Processionals
In 1872, Alexander Schmidt was credited for his research with blood clotting. He was the man responsible for naming the enzyme prothrombin. In the 20th century, it was discovered that Vitamin K, coupled with prothrombin, causes blood clotting or coagulation. It is produced in the liver in the presence of vitamin K. If vitamin K is deficient, there will be a prothrombin deficiency, and hemorrhaging may occur.

Now let’s see what the Bible says about circumcision of infants as in the book of Genesis 17:12 and Book of Leviticus chapter 12 verse 3.

Genesis 17:12: For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner—those who are not your offspring. NKJV

Leviticus 12:3: And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. NKJV

Circumcision of a Jewish child
Bible consistently says that a baby must be circumcised on the eighth day. Only on the eighth day of life do blood clotting substances reach their all-time high well beyond the amount that will accompany a normal human being for the rest of his life. It is the 8th day that the coagulating factor in the blood, called prothrombin, is the highest. It reaches its peak on the eighth day, then drops. Almost 4,000 years ago, God commanded Abraham to circumcise his son, specifically on the eighth day, and modern science now tells us that there was wisdom behind this commandment.
