And Allah had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing the enemy by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell into dispute about the order [given by the Prophet] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love. Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then he turned you back from them [in defeat] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allah is the possessor of bounty for the believers.

Then after distress, He sent down upon you security [in the form of] drowsiness, overcoming a faction of you, while another faction worried about themselves, thinking of Allah other than the truth - the thought of ignorance, saying, "Is there anything for us [to decide] in this matter?" Say, "Indeed, the matter belongs entirely to Allah." They hide within themselves what they do not reveal to you. They say, "If there was anything we could have done in the matter, we would not have been killed here." Say, "Even if you had been in your houses, those decreed to be killed would have come forth to their deathbeds." [It was] so that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purify what is in your hearts. And Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.

CLOSING PRAYER

Ya Allah (O Allah), all praise belongs to You for guiding us to complete the study of Surah Ale Imran word by word. We beg You not to let our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us from Yourself mercy, for You are the Bestower.

O Malik-ul-Mulk (Owner of All Dominion), as we have learned about firmness in faith and the trials of the believers in this Surah, grant us the strength to remain steadfast in times of difficulty. Help us hold tight to the Rope of Allah and never be divided.

Transform this knowledge into a light that illuminates our path in this life and the Hereafter. Accept this humble effort to understand Your Message and forgive our shortcomings. Ameen.
